Care and health

Brushing and Coat Care:

Puppy
Puppy care requires patience and calmness. It should be limited to once a day for a short period. The main goal is to get the puppy used to being touched all over its body. With a soft brush, the puppy is gently accustomed to being brushed.

Adolescent Dog
The grooming time should gradually increase to around 20 minutes at a time, once a week is sufficient. The dog also learns to let its ears be cleaned and its mouth inspected. For the Elo® dog with a rough coat, the hair on the face generally needs to be trimmed at this stage.

Adult Dog
From 12 months onwards, the Elo® dog should remain still for longer periods during grooming sessions.

The puppies are examined, vaccinated, and microchipped by our vet before being handed over.

Physical Exercise:

Why is exercise essential for a dog?

  • It helps strengthen bones and joints.

  • It stimulates the formation of synapses in the central nervous system.

  • It promotes the overall development of the dog.

  • It helps maintain an optimal weight, improve energy and muscle mass, and provides a sense of well-being.

It is crucial to balance exercise with moments of rest. Playing outside is good for both the body and the mind. Lack of exercise can result in insufficient stimuli necessary for the maturation of joints, muscles, and the brain.

Collar or harness ?

We recommend a simple adjustable nylon collar for our dogs. Ill-fitting harnesses are suspected of causing spinal blockages and leading to stiffening of the biceps tendons. A poorly adjusted chest harness can compress the rib cage, which harms internal organs by blocking energy pathways.
